Through 3 Quarters

After a tough loss on the road their last time out, the Minnesota Timberwolves look much better today on their home court. It’s anybody’s game after three quarters, but Minnesota is ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies 84-80.

Small forward Anthony Edwards has led the way so far for the Timberwolves, as he has 23 points and four assists along with five rebounds and two blocks. Memphis has been led by power forward Brandon Clarke, who so far has 14 points in addition to seven boards and two blocks.

Current Records: Memphis 3-2; Minnesota 2-3

What to Know

After a few days’ rest for both teams, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Minnesota Timberwolves will meet up at 9 p.m. ET April 29 at Target Center. The Grizzlies should still be feeling good after a win, while Minnesota will be looking to get back in the win column.

Memphis is hoping for another victory. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 111-109 win over the Timberwolves on Tuesday. Point guard Ja Morant and power forward Brandon Clarke were among the main playmakers for Memphis as the former almost posted a triple-double on 30 points, 13 rebounds, and nine dimes and the latter dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards.

Barring any buzzer beaters, Memphis is expected to win a tight contest Friday. They have failed bettors playing the spread in their past two games, so buyers beware.

Memphis’ win brought them up to 3-2 while Minnesota’s defeat pulled them down to a reciprocal 2-3. A couple offensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Grizzlies come into the matchup boasting the second most points per game in the league at 115.6. But the Timberwolves are even better: they rank first in the league when it comes to points per game, with 115.9 on average. Tune in for what’s sure to be a high-scoring contest.
