The Greater Escondido Chamber of Commerce holds its 111th annual Installation & Awards dinner from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at The Centre Escondido (Lexus), 1205 Auto Parkway. Tickets available for state of city event
The Encinitas Chamber of Commerce hosts the 2022 Encinitas State of the City address, taking place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Alila Marea Beach Resort. The theme for this year’s event is “The State of Our City is ‘Poised and Ready.’” Mayor Catherine Blakespear will give the keynote address, reviewing her three terms as mayor and her vision for Encinitas’ future, and will recognize outstanding local businesses. The Encinitas Chamber and the three 101s — Encinitas 101 Mainstreet Association, Leucadia 101 Main Street Association and Cardiff 101 Main Street — will also each recap their year. Reception at 5:30 p.m. features food samples from local restaurants. Beverages are available for purchase. Brewery holds anniversary party
Second Chance Beer Company, an independent craft brewery, is celebrating its seventh anniversary with a party from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday 8/27 at its Carmel Mountain headquarters. Grand opening, anniversary party
Gyminny Kids is celebrating 35 years and the grand opening of its second location from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 28 at the new Gyminny Kids Poway, 12850 Brookprinter Place. The celebration includes free pizza, bungees, supervised open gym, vendors, live music, performances, and ribbon cutting. Free climbing, BBQ at open house
Mesa Rim North City Climbing and Fitness Center hosts a free youth open house from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Youth climbers ages 7 to 17 years will be free to climb around the facility while parents can learn about the center’s programs. New members can get a free trial and climbing session to test out the facility. Vista High School holds an End-of-Summer job fair on campus from 1:05 to 1:45 p.m. Friday around the main quad. Prospective employers are invited to meet students they can hire immediately.
